Five Beyond Basic Tools You Need To Up Your Oral Care Routine

Five Beyond Basic Tools You Need To Up Your Oral Care Routine
Guardian Goes the Distance with the Oral Care Products You Need

Oral health is a key indicator of overall health, wellbeing and quality of life. If you don’t do oral care right you run the risk of bad breath, gum disease, tooth and gum sensitivity, cavities and even tooth loss.

The good news, these issues are preventable, and Guardian the leading health, beauty and personal care chain in Malaysia,  has the tools to help take your oral care routine way beyond basic.

Basic Oral Care
Brush your teeth once in the morning, and once at night, for two minutes each time using a soft bristled toothbrush with a small to medium-sized head, and a fluoridated toothpaste. Hold your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle pointed towards the gums. Brush all the surfaces of teeth (sides and the chewing surface on top). Guardian has the toothbrushes you need for your oral care routine. Try the Guardian Activ’ Care Giant Head Toothbrush with more bristles to clean wider surface faster and the Guardian Ecolo Green Tea Toothbrush that is more environmentally-friendly. You can also use them on-the-go with Guardian Dental Travel Kit. It is ideal for travel, fits in hand bags, gym bags and desk drawers with a hygienic cover, so you can brush as needed throughout the day.

Beyond Basic Oral Care
1.    Floss It!
Daily brushing only cleans three of the five surfaces of your teeth. Take it to the next level by cleaning between teeth using interdental brushes or floss. Flossing is essential to prevent gum disease. The Guardian Activ’ Care Dental Floss Mint is ideal as it is small, compact and fits in a pocket with a refreshing mint flavour.

2  Floss Toothpicks for Discreet Clean Ups
When you can’t do a full flossing, use Guardian Floss Toothpicks to effectively remove plaque and food particles between teeth and around the gum line especially at difficult-to-reach areas. They come individually wrapped so you can keep them in your handbag, or pants pocket for a quick oral clean up after lunch.

3.    Fishbone Toothpicks for when stuff sticks between teeth
Try the new Guardian Fishbone Toothpicks that are especially good for gently dislodging bits of food stuck between teeth. Pro tip: Always do your oral care regime in the washroom or in private.

4.    Beat Bad breath and Plaque with Mouthwash

Mouthwash can up your oral care routine by a few levels as it can go where brush and floss cannot reach. Sip a small amount and swish it around your mouth for 30 to 40 seconds, with lips closed. Spit it out, don’t swallow. Some mouthwashes contain an anti-bacterial ingredient to help reduce plaque and bad breath. Use the Guardian Fresh Mouth Six Action Mouthwash for fresher breath, to reduce dental plaque, strengthen teeth, promote healthier gums and to restore mineral to enamel.

5.    Clean Your Tongue
Plaque, a film of millions of bacteria. We often forget to clean our tongue, though.  Tongue scraping is an essential of daily home oral hygiene routines. Use the Guardian Tongue Cleaner to help remove coating and food debris from tongue.
